POSITION: The School of Educational Foundations Leadership and Aviation (SEFLA) in the College of Education and Human Sciences (CEHS) at Oklahoma State University (OSU) is seeking highly qualified candidates for a career-track position at the rank of Teaching Assistant Professor in the Aviation and Space Education (AVED) program. The successful candidate will teach aviation undergraduate and/or graduate program courses specifically in areas appropriate to the AVED programs needs. Applicants should demonstrate an interest in the universitys land-grant mission and a desire to make a positive impact on the academic community through teaching scholarship and service.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Teach aviation undergraduate and or graduate courses depending on the degree earned.
Teaching load is 9-12 credit hours/semester.
Perform instruction-related duties and responsibilities promptly and in conformity with the mission policies and procedures of the program college university and accrediting agencies.
Evaluate and document student assignments learning skills and abilities promptly.
Serve as a resource person in areas of expertise and to other faculty and personnel in the AVED program.
Serve the school university or college including committee work as appropriate.
Serve in student recruiting and retention efforts for the program.
Participate in curriculum implementation revision and evaluation.
Participate in professional development commensurate with program needs.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Earned masters degree with an emphasis in aviation/aerospace or closely aligned area. The ability to meet requirements to act as a ground instructor under 14 CFR Part 141 with an appropriate flight or ground instructor certificate or will be able to obtain an appropriate ground instructor certificate.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
An earned doctorate with an emphasis in aviation/aerospace or a closely aligned area.
FAA commercial single and multi-engine pilot certificate.
Professional civil or military aviation experience.
Experience teaching undergraduate and/or graduate students.
