Cascade AIDS Project(CAP) is the oldest and largest AIDS Service Organization (ASO) in Oregon and Southwest Washington that provides the LGBTQ community and beyond with compassionate healthcare. Cascade AIDS Projectis excited to announce that we are hiring skilled and team-oriented Bilingual Peer Navigator. The Bilingual Peer Navigator works with Cascade AIDS Projects (CAP) SW Washington team to provide high-quality strengths-based peer support and navigation services to people living with HIV. The Peer Navigator will support clients in engaging with medical care adhering to medication accessing benefits and supportive resources and reducing barriers to health and wellness.

Drawing on lived experience cultural humility and fluency in both English and Spanish the Peer Navigator helps reduce stigma and isolation builds social connections and empowers clients to self-advocate within health and social service systems. This role requires collaboration with medical case managers providers housing staff and other community partners to ensure coordinated care and support.

This is a Part-Time role working at our Vancouver location in SW Washington The schedule for this role 3 days a week 9:00am-5:00pm Fully in office.Starting pay is $29.85. The Bilingual Peer Navigator Pay increases with tenure and the top of the pay scale is $34.66. This is a union represented position so the compensation benefits and conditions of work are collectively bargained.

Who You Are

  • Knowledge of the lived experience of living with HIV and/or recovery from challenges related to mental health substance use or systemic oppression. Knowledge must be rooted in personal lived experience; academic or professional knowledge alone is not sufficient.
  • Verbal and written fluency in English and Spanish with ability to provide comprehensive peer support in both languages.
  • If the Peer Navigators personal history includes addiction a minimum of two years of sobriety is required.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with diverse populations including racial ethnic economic sexual orientation and gender identity groups.
  • Experience supporting individuals facing homelessness mental illness substance use or other barriers to care.
  • Willingness and ability to mindfully use lived experience to benefit clients while maintaining healthy boundaries and professionalism.

What You Will Do

  • Provide consistent strength-based peer support in English and Spanish to people living with HIV.
  • Work with the Washington State Department of Health to locate clients who are lost to care.
  • Conduct outreach and re-engagement for clients who are out of care.
  • Maintain awareness of HIV standards of care and adhere to agency and funder requirements.
  • Contribute to program development and culturally affirming practices.
  • Participate in team meetings trainings and quality improvement activities.
