Job Duties
The position provides services to ensure that Individuals receive nutritional meals based on established standards set by the American Dietary Association and monitored by TJC and CMS. Oversight areas will include review of dietary assessments dietary consults on physician orders assessing appropriateness of special diets maintenance of NetMenu and screening of meal plan cards for accuracy.
The position will provide periodic oversight of Individual and group nutritional education sessions as necessary. The position will endeavor to incorporate Recovery principles throughout all processes.
Minimum Qualifications
Registered Dietitian certification.
Degree in Nutrition from an accredited university (education cannot be substituted by experience).
Experience as a Dietitian in healthcare setting.
Knowledge of PCs Windows and Office software products and knowledge of computerized dietary software preferably NetMenu.
This position will also include:
Skills in dealing with individuals with psychiatric illnesses and managing nutritional needs of individuals on psychotropic medications.
Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing with patients and support staff.
Proficiency in interpreting federal state and accrediting agency regulations.
Additional Considerations
Previous experience working in a hospital or long-term care facility setting is preferred.
Veterans and people with National Service.
Bilingual fluency in Spanish and English.
