Job Title: Radiology Technologist (Contract)

Shift: 11:00 PM 7:00 AM
Every other weekend required
The Radiologic Technologist I is responsible for obtaining high-quality diagnostic radiographic examinations at a technical level that does not require constant supervision. This role includes performing imaging procedures ensuring patient safety assisting physicians and maintaining compliance with departmental standards.
Produce diagnostic radiographic examinations by positioning patients providing immobilization devices and selecting proper technical factors based on individual patient needs.
Select and operate equipment as required for specific procedures.
Restrict radiation beam using cone and collimating devices to limit exposure.
Perform portable x-ray examinations in patient rooms operating rooms and the emergency department.
Follow established procedures to correctly identify and mark patient films.
Process exposed x-ray films using available development methods.
Complete requisitions with initials date number and film size.
Maintain a clean and orderly x-ray room as directed by leadership.
Prepare and assist physicians in administering radiopaque contrast media.
Perform administrative duties such as scheduling patient instruction film filing and record maintenance.
Provide assistance to patients including moving turning and positioning as needed.
Safely lift push and pull per role requirements (minimum: lift 5 lbs. push/pull 10 lbs. stand at least 6 hours daily).
Adapt care to the needs of diverse patient populations (age culture language disability etc.).
Adhere to organizational and departmental competency standards.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Completion of an AMA-approved school of Radiologic Technology.
Completion of clinical and A.R.R.T. requirements.
Current New Jersey State Radiologic Technologist License.
Eligible for National Registry and successful completion of the ARRT examination.
Minimum of two (2) years in an acute care facility.
Must be able to work independently in emergency room trauma and operating room environments.
Experience with portable x-rays and pediatric imaging required.
