Job Title: Radiology Technologist (Contract)

Location: Hackensack NJ 07601

Schedule:

• Hours per Week: 40

• Hours per Day: 8

• Days per Week: 5

• Shift: 11:00 PM 7:00 AM

• Every other weekend required

Job Summary:

The Radiologic Technologist I is responsible for obtaining high-quality diagnostic radiographic examinations at a technical level that does not require constant supervision. This role includes performing imaging procedures ensuring patient safety assisting physicians and maintaining compliance with departmental standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Produce diagnostic radiographic examinations by positioning patients providing immobilization devices and selecting proper technical factors based on individual patient needs.

• Select and operate equipment as required for specific procedures.

• Restrict radiation beam using cone and collimating devices to limit exposure.

• Perform portable x-ray examinations in patient rooms operating rooms and the emergency department.

• Follow established procedures to correctly identify and mark patient films.

• Process exposed x-ray films using available development methods.

• Complete requisitions with initials date number and film size.

• Maintain a clean and orderly x-ray room as directed by leadership.

• Prepare and assist physicians in administering radiopaque contrast media.

• Perform administrative duties such as scheduling patient instruction film filing and record maintenance.

• Provide assistance to patients including moving turning and positioning as needed.

• Safely lift push and pull per role requirements (minimum: lift 5 lbs. push/pull 10 lbs. stand at least 6 hours daily).

• Adapt care to the needs of diverse patient populations (age culture language disability etc.).

• Adhere to organizational and departmental competency standards.

Required Education:

• High school diploma or equivalent.

• Completion of an AMA-approved school of Radiologic Technology.

• Completion of clinical and A.R.R.T. requirements.

Licensure & Certifications:

• Current New Jersey State Radiologic Technologist License.

• Eligible for National Registry and successful completion of the ARRT examination.

Experience Requirements:

• Minimum of two (2) years in an acute care facility.

• Must be able to work independently in emergency room trauma and operating room environments.

• Experience with portable x-rays and pediatric imaging required.
