About the Team
The Lakewood Retail Pharmacy team is an exciting new venture that combines Longbellas legacy of pharmacy services with Lakewoods innovative and growing leadership. With several locations throughout Lakewood Health System our retail pharmacy team meets the needs of patients at our clinics main hospital campus and new retail location at The Plaza on highway 10.
Mission for Position
The Retail Pharmacist ensures excellent and high-quality experiences for patients as they fill orders for medications monitor patient medication therapies and supervise support retail pharmacy personnel.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Accurately dispenses medication orders following Federal DEA and Minnesota Board of Pharmacy Rules and Statutes.
- Preparing and dispensing medications including compounded medications safely and accurately using appropriate techniques.
- Maintaining records required by law for controlled substances.
- Ensures safe appropriate cost-effective medication therapies for patients by:
- Monitoring Therapy regimens for contraindications interaction appropriateness of drug & dose and therapeutic duplications.
- Detecting and reporting adverse drug reactions and medication errors accurately and in a timely manner.
- Providing accurate adequate and timely drug information to professional staff patients and their families and counseling patients on proper use of medication.
- Providing medication therapy management and immunization services as available if approved to under MN state law.
- Contributes to the quality and effective operation of the department by:
- Supervising and directing support personnel including verifying daily activities of pharmacy technician and participating in performance evaluation of support personnel.
- Leads in customer service by appropriately answering phone and requests at window and directing inquiries to the appropriate personnel performing service recovery when needed.
- Performs essential duties of Pharmacist-In-Charge (PIC) in their absence.
- Maintains competency and participates in department/team meetings required for position/title.

Qualifications
- Graduate from an accredited College of Pharmacy
- Currently licensed by the State of Minnesota

- Problem solves.
- Is able to concentrate while remaining attentive to multiple tasks.
- Ability to calibrate precise instruments.
