In Short:
The Retail Relations Coordinator cultivates and stewards new and current retail food donors to maximize retail food donation opportunities. The Retail Rescue Coordinator will support the Retail Rescue program a key component of Food Bank for the Heartlands food sourcing plan to increase donated product. This role will help build local and regional relationships to maximize retail food donations and other food-sourcing opportunities. The Retail Rescue Coordinator will be an essential member of the sourcing team and work with other departments to support the organizations overall food distribution goals and mission to eliminate hunger in the Heartland by ensuring consistent access to healthy foods through community partnerships.

Your Mission:
  • Establish and maintain relationships with retail donors through cultivation and stewardship practices to ascertain the frequency volume and product mix of potential food will include traveling to conduct store visits and speaking with store managers and staff to strengthen partnerships and increase donations. You will act as the liaison between the Food Bank retail donors and our pantry this role you will gain a keen understanding of store donation programs and network partners capacity. You will work to remove barriers and offer solutions so that stores and pantry partners experience the maximum benefits of this program.
  • Collaborate partner support and cultivate relationships. We value the intentional importance of building and maintaining consistent connections with all our customers employees volunteers donors partners neighbors contractors and others. Thats why a crucial part of your role will involve consistent engagement with everyone around our table. Your donor-centric thinking will lead to significant contributions as you manage a portfolio of retail donors and help to foster strong relationships between these donors and pantry partners.
  • Analyze data to help determine weekly monthly quarterly and yearly strategies for our Food Sourcing team.
  • Engage with Feeding Americas training materials and updates to develop and present educational and stewardship materials to retail donors and our network partners.
  • Other duties entrusted within your scope of practice.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities:

Your Story:
  • Minimum of one (1) year of proven experience in retail program coordination sales or the food industry or a related area is required.
  • Lived experience with the impacts of systemic racism or marginalization is a plus.
  • Must have a valid drivers license.
