About Cultivate Initiatives:
We are a group of people who work alongside those on the margins to empower individuals and communities through an inclusive range of initiatives and support. We build communities from the inside out through workforce development housing and homemaking and supportive sheltering.
Position Summary:
Our Homemaking Apprentices work alongside the housing & homemaking team staff to help individuals who have recently transitioned into housing. This position is time-bound and will end in June 2026 due to funding.
Compensation/Benefits:
- Full-time non-exempt position with a starting hourly wage of $20

Accountability:
Accountable to the Housing & Homemaking Program Manager
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Empower individuals to maintain permanent independent housing through promoting physical and emotional health as well as building skills and community using a trauma-informed approach
- Come alongside Homemaking Specialists to offer support assist with neighbors needs and meet with neighbors in their homes when necessary
- Work alongside Housing Specialists to assist neighbors during their enrollment in housing programs and problem-solve with neighbors as issues arise.
- Assist the Housing Coordinator with inventory management and package handling.
- Exercises healthy professional boundaries and follows all organization and department policies
- Maintains confidentiality and earns others trust and respect through consistent
honesty and professionalism in all interactions
- Represent Cultivate Initiatives to partners Homeless Services Department and the broader community
- Attend all assigned training events and community outreach activities unless otherwise approved
- May participate in special projects and activities requested by the supervisor
- May perform other duties as requested by supervisor
Qualifications:
- Strong desire to learn and an interest in social service work
- Ability to effectively take written notes
- Ability to effectively use a smartphone or laptop
- Be adaptable to various situations
Work Conditions and Physical Requirements:
- Work is performed indoors.
- Ability to work in environments with varying noise levels from quiet offices to louder industrial settings.
- Ability to occasionally lift and/or move objects weighing up to 25 pounds.
- Work requires the ability and willingness to ride in a company vehicle to do home visits with other housing & homemaking team members
- Being physically present in the CI offices from 8:30am 4:30pm Monday - Friday
- Must be able to provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination or religious exemption
