The university advances knowledge through research and discovery teaching and learning community engagement and public service and with an intentional focus on student success and research excellence. Primary duties will includeteaching or co-teaching didactic and immersive lab courses related to his/her areas of expertise (anatomy physiology cardiopulmonary therapeutic diagnostics and therapeutic interventions); establishing and maintaining a research/scholarly agenda; mentoring students. Duties also includeconducting formative and summative curricular assessments including collecting information from alumni and employers; assisting the DPT Director; and serving on program department college and university committees. This position requires face-to-face interactions through a regular schedule of attendance on campus and in the workplace.

The College of Nursing and Health Sciences is actively developing a Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) program. The program is expected to submit its application for candidacy to the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE) in Fall 2027.

Required Qualifications

The successful candidate must hold a doctorate degree. If the doctorate is not in Physical Therapy they must hold a masters or bachelors degree in Physical Therapy. ABDs will also be considered but must have earned a doctorate before appointment. The candidate must have an active unrestricted PT license; a minimum of 3 years of full-time clinical practice following licensure; strong leadership skills and a vision for excellence; excellent communication skills; and an established research agenda. We strongly encourage candidates with 3 years of experience in teaching curriculum development and administration in DPT program; participation in a minimum of one CAPTE Self Study.
