The Employee Benefits (EB) division of Equitable is currently seeking a Pricing Actuary to provide support and leadership for our Pricing team. EB Actuarial is a dynamic and growing team within Equitable. This position offers a unique opportunity to shape and institute best practices at a company experiencing rapid and positive change. This director level position will report directly to the Chief Actuary of EB Actuarial and will be a critical member of the leadership team.

Key Job Responsibilities
Pricing recommendations for manual and experience rating
Underwriting support for case level pricing
Regulatory and compliance filings
People management this position will manage a team of 3-4 junior staff members
KPI development related to underwriting execution pricing accuracy and claims experience
Engagement with Corporate Actuarial related to Valuation ERM and profitability modeling
Engagement with Sales and Financial Planning team
Pricing deep-dives and new product development efforts
Other duties as assigned
The base salary range for this position is $135000 - $190000. Actual base salaries vary based on skills experience and geographical addition to base pay Equitable provides compensation to reward performance with base salary increases spot bonuses and short-term incentive compensation opportunities. Eligibility for these programs depends on level and functional area of responsibility.

Required Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Mathematics Statistics and/or Actuarial Sciences
FSA Designation
5 years of Group Insurance actuarial experience (Group Life Dental Disability Supplemental Health) or related product line
People management experience
Must possess accountability proven work ethic organizational skills interpersonal & communication skills and be self motivated
Successful in partnering and collaborating with cross functional teams including Distribution Finance Risk Legal Marketing and IT
Preferred Qualifications
Corporate modeling profitability modeling or risk management experience
Exceptional verbal and written communication along with interpersonal/relationship management skills
Analytical skills with the ability to research complex financial issues independently and provide initial recommendations
Highly organized with ability to manage either a process or a team and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
Ability to prioritize and direct the activities of others as needed
Skills
Accuracy and Attention to Detail: Understanding the necessity and value of accuracy; ability to complete tasks with high levels of precision.
Business Math: Knowledge of mathematical concepts; ability to apply mathematics appropriately to business transactions.
Communicating for Impact: Knowledge of the concepts tools and techniques for effective listening and communicating; ability to apply these theories to receive transmit and accurately interpret information and ideas to influence others in various situations.
Managing Multiple Priorities: Knowledge of effective self-management practices; ability to manage multiple concurrent objectives projects groups or activities making effective judgments as to prioritizing and time allocation.
Statistics and Actuarial Modeling: Knowledge of statistical and actuarial modeling tools and techniques; ability to apply modeling processes and techniques to facilitate risk management decisions.
