An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Lead IDVA in the Domestic Abuse Hub to work within the Childrens MARAC Intervention Team.
The Childrens Marac Intervention workers provide direct support to children and their non-abusive parent who are open to MARAC and childrens social care.
They provide evidence-based interventions safety planning and advocacy for children to reduce the risk and trauma of domestic abuse as part of a plan supported by an IDVA and childrens social worker.
About the Role:
The Lead IDVA carry a proportionate caseload of specialist/complex cases and contribute to planning intervention programme work for children and adults. You will provide advice and support in consultation with professionals who may be supporting children and young people who have experienced domestic abuse.
As Lead IDVA you will be responsible for providing direct supervision and case management direction for MARAC Childrens Intervention Workers / Domestic Abuse practitioners providing coaching and mentoring opportunities as part of employee development.
About the Candidate:
The successful candidate will have experience of working with survivors of high-risk domestic abuse (children and families) with experience of trauma informed approaches to engaging and supporting families who have been impacted by domestic abuse. You will have experience of planning and delivering intervention work with children and parents.
You should possess knowledge of and have experience of safeguarding processes including demonstrating experience of supporting children and young people who are subject to safeguarding enquiries child protection plans or may be care experienced. You will have confident decision making and knowledge around safety planning and support needs of children and young people who have experienced domestic abuse.
