NATURE AND SCOPE OF WORKMinuteman High School is looking to hire a Preschool Teaching Assistant. The anticipated hours are Mondays 2:30-4 pm at $25/hour with the possibility to fill in additional afternoons (2:30-4 pm) and mornings (7-7:40 am) as needed. The assistant will provide a safe and nurturing environment for preschool children that encourages their social emotional physical and intellectual development. The teacher will supervise students while assisting other CCA staff with the preschools Responsibilities:Interact at the childs level frequently respectfully and in childs play when needed to maintain safety. Enhance childrens play with language toys and activities. Maintain positive relationships with supervisors parents/guardians children and and model social behavior and expectations that are developmentally attentive flexible and supportive of children and their families during transitions to and from the respect for diversity by providing anti-bias non-sexist language images and collaboratively as a team with CCA staff. Acknowledge parents/guardians and all classroom visitors. Respond to parents/guardians comments and concerns with sensitivity interest and respect. Maintain confidentiality and follow all safety and health rules of the children at all times. Demonstrate awareness of entire group while working with a small group or individuals. Know the number of children in your group and always maintain children to utilize appropriate health safety and nutritional with all preschool clean and prepare the room. Physical Demands: Located in the Early Education and Teaching Preschool Lab. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable. Most of the time is spent on your feet working with and observing students while they are in the preschool.
