You will be updated with latest job alerts via emailUnder general direction of Learning and Development Operations Manager this position is responsible for difficult professional work in employee development and training including establishing requirements and evaluation of training staff. The position directly supervises Training Officer Ills in day to day direction; establishes and implements training plans and processes for staff development training strategies and methods; supervises training staff evaluation of staff plans for development of staff collects pertinent data and prepares training reports for administrative review; oversees and provides a full spectrum of professional staff development and training activities of considerable difficulty throughout the state of Arizona; supervises and oversees the Classroom Trainers Statewide including but not limited to Specialists Core Supervisor Core Case Aide Core Advanced Academy DCS 101 and other specialized and refresher trainings. Responsible for fidelity in provisions of the Training Curricula; assists and supports Trainers in handling new hire performance/behavioral issues elevating as needed to the Region.
This position currently has eight direct reports whose post of duties are located in Maricopa county. Because of Learning & Developments goal to provide all training delivered state wide this position requires extensive travel and over site of trainers to ensure customer needs are met with high quality additions because of the over site of trainers state wide this position requires complex problem solving and planning to accomplish goals and meet customer needs.
The position is responsible for quality assurance including quality of training delivery; ensures fidelity to policy and consistency of supported practice statewide; confers with advisory groups supervisors and regional representatives concerning training needs; ensures consistency and quality of training strategies methods and delivery; participates in committees and work groups as assigned; and participates in the Learning and Development leadership team to ensure quality consistency and direction in statewide training for DCS.
Supervise Learning and Developments Classroom Trainers. Oversee the workforce of all classroom training schedules statewide and strategically assign staff accordingly ensuring statewide coverage for all scheduled classroom trainings.
Monitor and evaluate performance meet with staff regularly provide guidance mentor approve leave for employees based on business needs and provide council on disciplinary measures when required for Trainees or staff. Support classroom trainers when classroom issues are escalated work closely with Employee Relations to address and resolve issues.
Develop a cross functional team by establishing evaluation criteria that will aide in tracking the skill and competency level of all classroom trainers.
Develop a flexible reactive team by developing short and long-term goals for evaluating and cross training.
Responsible for implementing sustaining and improving the plan. Use data to forecast and schedule all future trainings delivered by Learning and Development.
Oversee and coordinate delivery of multiple aspects of the training program. Ensure consistent delivery of curriculum. This includes delivery statewide and coordination with local and regional staff including but not limited to Specialist Core Supervisor Core Case Aide Core TDM trainings and all other training required statewide. Review and evaluate training activities.
Ensure and manage the use of training Leader Guides and other training manuals and materials coordinating with Curriculum Design and Development Manager to aide in revision of training materials. Responsible for ensuring request processes are adhered to. Develop and implement quality assurance process for trainers implement quality assurance plan and use data to identify opportunities for continuous improvement and create processes to aide with quality assurance.
Work in collaboration with Planning and Logistics Supervisor to ensure that all training needs are met. Identify any issues concerning capacity of trainers to meet customer needs. Problem solve and set priorities to help meet customer demands. Be solution based when issues arise and escalate plans to operations manager as needed.
Understand and implement visual management system to establish goals in alignment with Departments Strategic Initiatives. Develop establish and maintain work process to aide with goal of equal distribution of work load for classroom trainers capacity and other organization goals. Responsible for creating updating tracking and reporting goals.
Use tracking measurements and data to help with continuous improvement activities to support improvement plans. Use Visual Management System to report and track quality goals and carry out countermeasures when necessary.

Bachelors degree in social work psychology public administration another social or behavioral science or other acceptable field of study from an accredited college or university AND Two (2) years of training experience
OR
Masters degree in one (1) of the above fields and One (1) year of the required training experience.
In-state travel is required. Requires the possession of and ability to retain a current valid state-issued drivers license appropriate to the assignment. Employees who drive on state business are subject to drivers license record checks must maintain acceptable driving records and must complete any required driver training (see Arizona Administrative Code R.12).
Employees may be required to use their own transportation as well as maintaining valid motor vehicle insurance and current Arizona vehicle registration; however mileage will be reimbursed.
Must be able to secure and maintain an Arizona Fingerprint Clearance card.
Must be able to secure and maintain clearance from the CPS Central Registry.
Employment is contingent on the selected applicant passing a background investigation.
