The Aerospace Corporations Experiment Lab xLab develops prototypes instruments pathfinders and demonstration systems to address our customers hardest problems at the speed of need. We are hiring an Undergraduate-level Electrical Engineering Intern for an opportunity with theElectrical and Software Engineering Department where we design electronics hardware and embedded software for innovative space and ground-based prototypes for scientific and technical customers. We collaborate with other engineers on the entire design cycle from requirements definition through design and assembly to final integration of a completed flight unit.

The selected candidate will be required to work full-time on-site at our facility in El Segundo CA.

What Youll Be Doing

• You will be working with experienced electrical engineers on various design stages of space-flight prototypes

• You may work on electrical schematic design embedded software development hardware testing or lab process improvement tasks

• Our customers include internal Aerospace researchers and external government and civil customers

• Duties responsibilities and activities may change or new ones may be assigned as needed

• Training and mentorship will be provided

What You Need to be Successful

Minimum Requirements:

• Currently enrolled full-time in an accredited college/university program pursuing a Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering Computer Science Computer Engineering or related discipline

• Sophomore class standing completed by internship start date

• Availability to work full-time for a minimum of 10 weeks outside of university term and ability to return to a degree program full-time after completion of the internship.

• Minimum GPA of 3.0

• Familiarity or Coursework in Circuit Fundamentals

• Familiarity with design and architecture

• Knowledge of hardware testing and analysis

• Knowledge of programming languages such as C or C

• This position requires the ability to obtainand maintaina security clearance;which is issued by the US government. U.S citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance
