Position Summary:
Reporting to the Electrical Engineering Manager Motion Solutions the Controls Engineer will be responsible for design oversight direction of hardware and systems associated to Motion Solutions systems projects. The position will require a strong working knowledge of system design including hydraulic electrical pneumatic and mechanical hardware. Design will require the review and understanding of customer requirements and refine a design that will meet and exceed these requirements. The candidate must demonstrate the ability to manage a workload and the assigned tasks provided. Moderately complex support in all aspects of the projects overseeing other engineers and designers output working in various environments is required. As a Controls Engineer one will need to interface daily with other System Engineers and Designers Fabrication Personnel Salespersons and customers directly.
This position will require strong working knowledge of the fabrication environment required to build electrical control panels UL508A assembly UL698A assembly control solutions and installations.
Primary Duties:
- Manage the flow of all assigned projects through quote design build and test phases.
- Engineering review (documents BOMs etc) and support for projects as needed (Our process requires every job be reviewed)
- Coordinate and support project management of larger projects.
- Face the customer for projects assigned by Engineering Manager.
- Teaching aspects of the project to other engineers and technicians on the team
- Interpret customer and salespersons supplied information to create scope of expectations/work definitions.
- Assert diligent efforts to ask all the necessary questions which lead MFCP to a profitable engineered solution for the customer.
- Generate designs and supporting documentation of a system that will meet and exceed the scope of work.
- Interface with customers directly to support the design as well as continue to work towards the customers complete satisfaction.
- Utilize AutoCAD Electrical and Inventor to support the design and documentation of systems.
- Interface with Vault to help maintain proper structure for each design and project.
- Create source and/or consolidate all documentation needed to support the project (submittals).
Basic Requirements:
- Understanding of electrical components and their principles of operation.
- UL508a and UL698a panel electrical schematic and panel layout design skills.
- Excellent written & oral communication and strong relationship building skills required.
- Detail oriented with solid organizational skills and the ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced work environment.
- Strong computer skills including use of MS Office (Word Excel & Outlook) with a willingness to learn new software programs. Experience with P21 a plus.
- Strong AutoCAD Electrical & PLC/HMI Programming abilities.
- 4 Year degree or equivalent work experience with solid business acumen. Individuals must complete training courses as required by the company to ensure they have proper product knowledge.
- Develop a working knowledge of the industries we serve.
- Individuals must be able to communicate and work well with customers vendors and company staff.
- Individuals must possess the ability to read and interpret documents such as requests for quotations purchase orders quotations from vendors drawings catalog data operating and maintenance instructions and process manuals.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:
- Job requires occasionally lifting objects up to 35 pounds bending to retrieve equipment parts hose reels to perform pressure testing and to push pull or slide heavy objects. Standing for long periods of time while cutting crimping blowing out tagging and plugging hoses. Frequent repetitive grasping twisting pushing and pulling use of the hands.
- Occasionally use hydraulic crimping equipment saws pressure testing stand small power tools and various other hand tools. Some materials or processes used in hose production may generate odors.
- Hose production is in a non-air-conditioned area of our facility which may experience high or low seasonal temperatures. The physical demands and work environment reflected are representative of those encountered by employees when performing the essential job functions.
