Overview of the Role

This role is for a talented financial analyst to support the NMR and UK Global Advisory (GA) Finance teams. The scope will be wide ranging to ensure the successful candidate has a broad understanding of the NMR and UK business as both the legal entity and management reporting addition the candidate will have responsibility within the UK Finance team for Treasury related issues and more widely on the balance sheet overall and with project work as required. The role will also involve an element of ad-hoc work to support senior members of the NMR and UK GA Finance Teams.

Key responsibilities

Liquidity and Cash Management

  • Cash and liquidity management for all UK entities
  • Overseeing all inter-group lending between UK entities and the wider R&Co Group
  • Managing all treasury and financial risks
  • Foreign exchange management including ensuring appropriate funding structures in place for non-GBP investments (e.g. Five Arrows)
  • Oversight of all UK debt issues including responsibility for monitoring covenants and all other information requirements
  • Develop medium term cash and capital projections
  • Develop relationships with banks money funds trading platforms and any other relevant bodies
  • Reporting to the Executive Committee on all balance sheet and Treasury matters

Financial Control

  • Responsible for the preparation of the annual financial statements for several small UK subsidiaries and assisting with NMRs annual financial statements
  • Complete Group reporting for several small UK companies including analysing and agreeing intra-group and company transactions
  • Responsible for reconciliation of various balance sheet accounts and control of entity general ledgers
  • Assisting with Group Support Division allocations including review & variance analysis of Group recharges and provision of commentary for senior management
  • Assisting with the preparation of UK entities budgeting and forecasting processes
  • Liaising with UK GA Finance Business Partners to assist with understanding cost variances
  • Assisting UK GA Finance team with cost reallocations and other adhoc tasks

Requirements

  • Part/newly qualified accountant with good academic record
  • Knowledge of Treasury and Finance processes. Understanding of banks balance sheet and regulatory capital/liquidity requirements would be useful
  • An ability to understand analyse and present complex subjects and conclusions
  • An ability to interact with senior people either requesting or presenting information
  • Good knowledge of all Microsoft products (especially Excel PowerPoint); Experience of SAP accounting package beneficial
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage varied and often time pressured workload
  • Very good analytical skills with ability to present information and write clearly and concisely
