JOB OVERVIEW
Were seeking ICC Certified Mechanical Inspectors to support our growing portfolio of infrastructure this role youll conduct independent inspections of mechanical plumbing and fuel gas systems to ensure code compliance proper installation and system integrity.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Quality Assurance & Inspection
Conduct inspections of HVAC piping ventilation plumbing and fuel gas systems
Evaluate compliance with ICC NYC Mechanical Electrical and Plumbing Codes and project specifications
Verify sizing installation and operations of MEP systems and components
Identify non-conformities and document findings
Documentation & Reporting
Maintain detailed inspection records and generate professional reports
Interpret approved plans and construction documents
Communicate findings clearly with stakeholders and construction teams
Maintain and update inspection logs
Collaboration & Process Improvement
Apply technical judgment and problem-solving on-site
Interface with project teams to identify and resolve code compliance or installation issues
Support continuous improvement in inspection processes
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS
ICC Commercial Mechanical Inspector Certification (Active)
Minimum 3 years of experience in building systems inspection or related field
Familiarity with NYC Mechanical Plumbing and Fuel Gas Codes
30-Hour OSHA Construction Safety Training Certification (Mandatory)
Strong communication skills in English (spoken & written)
Basic math documentation and reporting skills
Ability to interpret engineering drawings and follow safety procedures
Willingness to travel across job sites in NYC
Preferred Skills
Experience with MEP inspections on commercial infrastructure or institutional projects
Multi-discipline inspection certifications (Plumbing Fuel Gas Fire Proofing Firestopping Masonry Anchors)
Familiarity with DOB and public agency documentation requirements
