Job Summary

MalaceHR is seeking a skilled and reliable Journeyman Electrician to join our facilities maintenance team at a college addition to electrical work the individual in this role will be responsible for general facilities maintenance to ensure the campus buildings and grounds are safe functional and well-maintained. The ideal candidate will have a strong electrical background with the ability to troubleshoot and repair a variety of electrical systems and equipment as well as perform routine maintenance and repairs on building systems.

Key Responsibilities:

Electrical Work:
- Install maintain and repair electrical systems including lighting wiring circuit breakers and outlets.
- Troubleshoot electrical issues and provide corrective action in a timely manner.
- Ensure all electrical work is performed in compliance with local building codes safety regulations and industry standards.
- Perform preventive maintenance on electrical systems to minimize downtime and improve reliability.
Facilities Maintenance:
- Perform routine and emergency maintenance on campus buildings including plumbing HVAC lighting and general repairs.
- Conduct inspections to identify and address maintenance issues proactively.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas and ensure proper use of equipment.
- Respond promptly to facilities-related requests from campus departments and staff.
- Perform minor carpentry drywall painting and other maintenance tasks as needed.
Safety & Compliance:
- Follow all safety protocols and procedures ensuring the safe operation of electrical and maintenance equipment.
- Participate in safety training and maintain knowledge of relevant codes and regulations.
- Adhere to lockout/tagout procedures and other safety practices for electrical work and general maintenance tasks.
Collaboration & Communication:
- Work closely with campus administration faculty and staff to ensure timely completion of work orders.
- Keep detailed records of all electrical and maintenance activities including inspections repairs and replacements.
- Provide exceptional customer service to internal stakeholders and maintain a positive and professional demeanor.

Qualifications:

Education & Experience:
- Journeyman Electrician certification or equivalent experience.
- Experience with general facilities maintenance tasks (plumbing HVAC carpentry etc.) is highly preferred.
- Previous experience working in a campus or large institutional setting is a plus.
Skills & Abilities:
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems building codes and safety protocols.
- Proficient in the use of electrical tools and diagnostic equipment.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment and materials as needed.
