Job Description
We are seeking a highly experienced Java Backend Engineer with deep expertise in JUnit testing frameworks to join our team supporting client in New York. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in designing scalable backend systems writing robust unit tests and mentoring junior developers. This role demands a high level of technical proficiency leadership and a passion for clean testable code.
Key Responsibilities:- Design develop and maintain high-performance backend systems using Java 8.
- Lead the development and implementation of JUnit-based unit testing strategies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define design and ship new features.
- Ensure code quality through rigorous testing code reviews and best practices.
- Optimize application performance and scalability.
- Mentor junior developers and contribute to architectural decisions.
- Work closely with DevOps and QA teams to ensure smooth CI/CD pipelines.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to sprint planning and retrospectives.
- 14 16 years of hands-on experience in Java backend development.
- Expert-level proficiency in JUnit and other testing frameworks (Mockito TestNG).
- Strong understanding of Spring Boot RESTful APIs and microservices architecture.
- Experience with SQL/NoSQL databases (e.g. PostgreSQL MongoDB).
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools (Jenkins GitLab CI etc.).
- Solid grasp of design patterns OOP principles and clean code practices.
- Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills.
- Strong communication and leadership abilities.
- Experience working in financial services or payment systems.
- Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS GCP or Azure).
- Exposure to Kafka Docker and Kubernetes.
- Masters degree in Computer Science or related field is a plus.
