Job Description: Radiologic Technologist CT (Full-Time/Evenings)

Hourly Rate: $30.00 $43.00
Sign-On Bonus: $7500
Position Summary
The CT Technologist is responsible for performing high-quality computed tomography (CT) procedures within the established guidelines of Imaging Services. The role supports the mission and vision of the organization by ensuring technical accuracy patient safety and adherence to departmental protocols. The CT Technologist collaborates with radiologists healthcare staff and students to maintain a safe effective and patient-centered imaging environment.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Excellence / Patient Care:

Perform CT procedures accurately and efficiently according to departmental protocols and turnaround times.

Administer contrast agents per procedure guidelines utilizing proper flow rates with power injectors.
-
Document patient history procedural details and quality control measures.
-
Adhere to protocols for patient identification pregnancy documentation image labeling and exam standards.
-
Use AIDET (Acknowledge Introduce Duration Explanation Thank You) to enhance patient experience.
-
Perform safe patient transfers with approved mobility equipment.
-
Assist with student clinical and didactic instruction as needed.
Regulatory Compliance:
-
Maintain compliance with standards and recommendations from IDPH ACR TJC and other regulatory bodies.

Follow ALARA principles to minimize exposure to ionizing radiation.
-
Wear issued radiation monitoring badges and follow all safety protocols.
-
Make independent informed decisions regarding departmental functions and procedures.
Departmental Support:

Promote departmental goals policies and project implementation.
-
Maintain productivity while assisting team members as workload allows.
-
Communicate effectively with managers healthcare staff and students regarding clinical and operational issues.

Maintain cleanliness of equipment and workspace reporting malfunctions promptly.

Support the School of Radiologys clinical competency and student supervision processes.
Qualifications
Education / Experience:
-
Clinical experience as a Radiologic Technologist preferred.
-
Appropriate modality-specific training required for assigned duties.
-
Experience with computer systems and electronic records desirable.
Licensure / Certification:
-
Current Iowa Department of Public Health permit Required
-
ARRT certification as a Radiographer Required
-
Annual CT and Fluoroscopic Safety education completion Required
