This role will involve designing coding testing debugging and implementing changes to new and existing software applications with a strong focus on ETL data transformation and AWS cloud solutions. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in Python (3.x) data engineering cloud architecture and solutioning as well as a passion for delivering scalable and efficient enterprise applications. Job Title: Python Data Engineer Location: Des Moines IA (Onsite) Duration: 6 months Rate/Salary: DOE Job Description: Design code test debug document and implement changes to new and existing software applications. Ensure quality and controls are in place manage escalations and develop and recommend solutions. Execute and lead unit testing; collaborate with QA to ensure applications meet IT standards and business requirements. Participate in design and coding of small to large applications as part of a team. Coordinate with Change Management Team for code deployments. Resolve complex software issues across multiple applications and platforms. Generate monthly business usage reports. Address critical production issues and implement hot fixes. Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies including sprint planning backlog grooming and reviews. Required Experience & Skills: 8 10 years of software development and data engineering experience. Strong hands-on experience with Python 3.x for data handling and transformation (flat files databases APIs XMLs). Expertise in Python transformations using Core Python Polars and PySpark. Strong understanding of OOP concepts inheritance classes and functions. Data analysis engineering and solution design. Extensive experience with AWS services: CloudFormation IAM S3 EC2 Lambda Athena DynamoDB Step Functions EventBridge Fargate. AWS architecture development using boto3 and CloudFormation templates. Experience with enterprise scheduling tools (Control-M preferred). Strong SQL skills PostgreSQL preferred. Hands-on experience with GIT commands and version control. Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps tools (Jenkins GitHub/BitBucket Artifactory). Containerization experience using Docker or Kubernetes. APIs and microservices development is a plus.
