Position SummaryAs a Power BI Developer you will be instrumental in developing implementing and maintaining robust and scalable business intelligence solutions. You will be responsible for the full lifecycle of Power BI dashboards and reports from data extraction and transformation to visualization and deployment. You will collaborate closely with stakeholders data engineers and business analysts to translate complex data into actionable insights that empower our business units to make informed decisions.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and Development: Create and maintain dynamic and interactive Power BI dashboards reports and data models that meet business requirements.
- Data Modeling and Transformation: Develop efficient data models using DAX (Data Analysis Expressions) to build complex calculations and solve advanced business problems.
- ETL Processes: Utilize Power Query to extract transform and load data from various sources (e.g. SQL databases Excel SharePoint APIs) into Power BI.
- Performance Optimization: Optimize Power BI reports and dashboards for performance and scalability including troubleshooting and resolving performance issues.
- Collaboration: Work closely with business stakeholders to gather requirements provide insights and ensure reports align with business goals.
- Governance and Security: Implement and manage security roles (Row-Level Security) and workspace governance within the Power BI Service.
- Documentation: Create and maintain technical documentation for data models reports and processes.
- Deployment: Publish and manage reports on the Power BI Service ensuring a smooth and reliable deployment process.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Power BI Developer Data Analysis.
- Strong expertise in Power BI Desktop and Power BI Service.
- In-depth knowledge of DAX and Power Query (M language).
- Solid proficiency in SQL for querying and manipulating data.
- Experience with data modeling data warehousing concepts and ETL processes.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively translate technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
- A portfolio or examples of previous Power BI projects would be a significant advantage.
Nice to Have
- Experience with other BI tools (e.g. Tableau Qlik).
- Knowledge of cloud platforms and data services (e.g. Azure Data Factory Azure Synapse Analytics AWS Redshift).
- Experience with Python or R for data analysis and scripting.
