Position- Network Automation Engineer (Telco Cloud)
Location: Southlake TX ( Day 1 onsite) possibility of face to face discussion
Type: Contract - HCL
Key Responsibilities:
- Design develop and maintain Python scripts and Ansible playbooks to automate network and Telco Cloud infrastructure tasks.
- Automate configuration provisioning and lifecycle management of physical and virtual network devices (routers switches firewalls) and network functions (VNFs CNFs).
- Support automation of telecom services in OpenStack Kubernetes OpenShift environments.
- Integrate automation solutions with SDN/NFV platforms orchestration layers and CI/CD pipelines.
- Collaborate with network engineering cloud operations and DevOps teams to deliver reliable secure and scalable network services.
- Ensure compliance with security and operational policies through automated compliance checks and remediation.
- Maintain thorough documentation of automation frameworks workflows and network configurations.
Technical Skills:
- 5 years of experience in network automation preferably in telecom or service provider environments.
- Proficient in Python for network scripting and automation tasks.
- Hands-on experience with Ansible (including roles inventories and playbook development).
- Strong knowledge of network protocols (BGP OSPF MPLS VLANs VPNs IPv4/IPv6).
- Experience with Telco Cloud platforms and technologies such as:
- OpenStack Red Hat OpenShift Kubernetes
- Exposure to NFV and SDN concepts and tools (e.g. ONAP OSM OpenDaylight).
- Familiarity with network automation frameworks/libraries: Netmiko NAPALM RESTCONF gNMI.
- Familiarity with REST APIs
- Experience working with multi-vendor hardware (Cisco Juniper Arista etc.).
- Comfortable in Linux environments and familiar with CLI-based tooling.
- Proficiency in Git version control workflows and CI/CD tools like Jenkins or GitLab CI.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of 5G network architecture including vRAN O-RAN and 5G core functions.
- Experience with containerized network functions (CNFs) and cloud-native principles (microservices service mesh etc.).
- Understanding of infrastructure-as-code (IaC) and experience with tools such as Terraform.
- Familiarity with network monitoring and telemetry tools (e.g. SNMP NetFlow Prometheus).
- Certifications such as:
- Red Hat Certified Specialist in Ansible Automation
- Linux Foundation CKA or CKAD
