Job Summary

Position- Network Automation Engineer (Telco Cloud)

Location: Southlake TX ( Day 1 onsite) possibility of face to face discussion

Type: Contract - HCL

Key Responsibilities:

Design develop and maintain Python scripts and Ansible playbooks to automate network and Telco Cloud infrastructure tasks.
Automate configuration provisioning and lifecycle management of physical and virtual network devices (routers switches firewalls) and network functions (VNFs CNFs).
Support automation of telecom services in OpenStack Kubernetes OpenShift environments.
Integrate automation solutions with SDN/NFV platforms orchestration layers and CI/CD pipelines.
Collaborate with network engineering cloud operations and DevOps teams to deliver reliable secure and scalable network services.
Ensure compliance with security and operational policies through automated compliance checks and remediation.
Maintain thorough documentation of automation frameworks workflows and network configurations.

Technical Skills:

5 years of experience in network automation preferably in telecom or service provider environments.
Proficient in Python for network scripting and automation tasks.
Hands-on experience with Ansible (including roles inventories and playbook development).
Strong knowledge of network protocols (BGP OSPF MPLS VLANs VPNs IPv4/IPv6).
Experience with Telco Cloud platforms and technologies such as:
- OpenStack Red Hat OpenShift Kubernetes
Exposure to NFV and SDN concepts and tools (e.g. ONAP OSM OpenDaylight).
Familiarity with network automation frameworks/libraries: Netmiko NAPALM RESTCONF gNMI.
Familiarity with REST APIs
Experience working with multi-vendor hardware (Cisco Juniper Arista etc.).
Comfortable in Linux environments and familiar with CLI-based tooling.
Proficiency in Git version control workflows and CI/CD tools like Jenkins or GitLab CI.

Preferred Qualifications:

Knowledge of 5G network architecture including vRAN O-RAN and 5G core functions.
Experience with containerized network functions (CNFs) and cloud-native principles (microservices service mesh etc.).
Understanding of infrastructure-as-code (IaC) and experience with tools such as Terraform.
Familiarity with network monitoring and telemetry tools (e.g. SNMP NetFlow Prometheus).
Certifications such as:
- Red Hat Certified Specialist in Ansible Automation
- Linux Foundation CKA or CKAD
