Event Marketing Strategist - Contract

About the Role

Ready to orchestrate a high-visibility event that garners national attention Were seeking a talented Event Marketing Strategist to develop and execute a comprehensive marketing and communications campaign for a prestigious biannual conference hosted by a leading Christian university. This is your chance to shape the narrative drive attendance and broaden university representation for an event thats a presidential priority.

  • Role: Event Marketing Strategist
  • Duration: 30 days
  • Location: Remote
  • Hours/wk: 10-15 hours/week
  • Hourly Rate: $60/hour

What Youll Do

As our Event Marketing Strategist you will be instrumental in crafting and implementing a strategic communications and marketing plan designed to elevate the conferences profile and ensure seamless alignment with the universitys central brand efforts.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Develop a cohesive marketing and communications strategy for the September 2026 conference.  ***this is the key deliverable to establish an event marketing plan to the University team along with a recommended marketing promotion timeline that we will then execute in a phase two project once the timeline is locked***
  • Ensure messaging consistency with the universitys brand guidelines and ongoing paid media initiatives.
  • Drive increased attendance aiming to reach the conference cap of 250 attendees from the previous 150.
  • Broaden university representation among conference attendees.
  • Create essential event collateral including postcards presentation slides and printed programs.
  • Develop a faculty share kit to empower faculty to effectively promote the event.
  • Design and execute an email campaign leveraging purchased lists (including USNWR voter lists) and internal university audiences.
  • Provide recommendations for paid media across platforms like LinkedIn social media and programmatic advertising contingent on budget availability.

Were looking for a strategic thinker with exceptional communication skills who can effectively translate non-marketing requests into actionable marketing strategies. The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Strong communication skills: The ability to clearly articulate marketing strategies and translate complex ideas for diverse stakeholders.
  • Consultative approach: Patience and expertise in educating stakeholders on marketing best practices and impact.
  • Balanced perspective: Comfort in managing executive priorities while maintaining a realistic focus on marketing outcomes.
  • Proven experience in developing and executing successful marketing and communications plans for events.
  • Familiarity with email marketing platforms and best practices.
  • Understanding of paid media strategies across various digital channels.
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills.
