Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Nurse Manager for the Operating Room to oversee perioperative services in a busy acute care setting. This role requires strong leadership clinical expertise and the ability to implement best practices to ensure safe high-quality care. The Nurse Manager will be responsible for leading teams fostering collaboration with physicians and staff managing resources ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and driving operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the daily operations of perioperative services within a 24/7 clinical environment.
- Oversee staff performance development and succession planning.
- Collaborate with physicians healthcare teams and external providers to ensure continuity and quality of patient care.
- Monitor and manage budgets payroll equipment and supply utilization.
- Drive initiatives in quality improvement patient safety and compliance with state federal and accreditation standards.
- Ensure emergency preparedness and staff readiness plans are developed and executed.
- Implement and maintain best practice models patient care delivery systems and evidence-based standards of care.
- Manage staff relations including recruitment retention labor relations and conflict resolution.
Qualifications
Required:
- Current California RN license (at time of hire).
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or Master of Science in Nursing (MSN).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
- Minimum 5 years of current Operating Room RN experience in an acute care hospital (surgery center experience may be considered if the majority is acute care).
- At least 4 years of nursing leadership experience (Manager Supervisor or Charge RN) with at least 2-3 years at the Manager or Supervisor level.
Preferred:
- CNOR certification.
- Experience working in a unionized healthcare environment.
