Summary: St Vincent is needing 1 General Surgeon for Christmas coverage. Please do not submit candidates that cant cover these dates. MUST have AR license.

Rate Caps for Submission:

Malpractice Must be included in rates.

Orientation $187.50 - half the hourly/callback rate kicks in after 8 hours. Per hour of orientation or training beyond 8 hours

On Call (Daily) $2700 - Per 24 hours to include 4 hours gratis

24 Hour Holiday Call Rate - $4050 - Per 24 hours to include 4 hours gratis

Call Back $375 Per hour of patient contact hours after gratis hours are completed gratis prorate to MSA terms.

Holiday Call Back $562.50 Per holiday hour of patient contact hours after gratis hours are completed gratis prorate to MSA terms.

Average Callback: Weekday: 4.1 hours; Weekend: 3.9 Hours

Schedule/Availability Requirements:

Dec 24(7a)-1/2(7a)/ 24 hour 7a-7a - it is not likely they will need ongoing coverage. They have a new physician starting after the new year.

Duties: hospital rounding and call

Required Procedures: Gallbladder Hernias Colorectal and surgical oncology endocrine surgery endoscopy surgery and numerous minimally invasive and laparoscopic procedures

EMR: EPIC

Patients per Day: 40

Support Staff: 3 APPs

Reason for Coverage: Physician on PTO

Additional Questions:

Is endoscopy required Both upper and lower YES

Is laparoscopy required Yes

Is any vascular required Yes- 30% traumas are penetrating sometimes requiring vascular repairs.

Annual ER admissions over 40K

What level trauma center is the hospital LEVEL II

What are the most common cases the locum will see Random-A lot of abdominal and colorectal procedures/traumas-Same as above on other procedures

For AP:

Does the PA/NP need to first assist on cases NO

Will they accept PA AND NP Would they accept a surgical first assist NO

Average number of calls per night: 10-20 on average. Mostly for peds patients we will handle Lap Appys and traumas will get shipped to Childrens because we dont have the peds support on it.
