The Opportunity
The Square Kilometre Array Observatory (SKAO) is a global initiative to build the worlds largest and most advanced radio telescopes. To harness the vast scientific potential of the data generated SKAO is partnering with national hubs known as SKA Regional Centres (SRCs). The Australian SKA Regional Centre (AusSRC) is a key part of this international network delivering cutting-edge data solutions infrastructure and support to the astronomy community. Backed by a $63-million investment from the Australian Government the AusSRC is enabling the next generation of discovery in radio astronomy.
The AusSRC team is a collaborative multi-disciplinary group working across institutions and borders to deliver high-impact software and data services. The team maintains strong relationships with external stakeholders and contributes to a globally connected scientific ecosystem. The environment is fast-paced innovative and deeply mission-driven offering a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of science and technology.
Joining this team as a Senior Software Engineer specifically based in Perth you will play a pivotal role in designing developing and supporting software components that underpin the AusSRCs capabilities. You will contribute to the delivery of scalable high-performance systems for data flow processing and user support. Working closely with researchers engineers and international partners you will help shape the tools and platforms that enable groundbreaking science.
