We are looking for a full-time (1.0 FTE) Retail Pharmacy Assistant to join our team! This position will work in our Frederic WI location.
Job Summary:
The Pharmacy Assistant plays a key role in supporting daily pharmacy operations by delivering excellent customer service managing non-prescription merchandise and maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the pharmacy. This position also assists with a variety of administrative and support tasks as assigned.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Customer Service
- Greet customers and assist with locating merchandise or picking up prescriptions
- Operate cash register to process cash credit and insurance payments
- Answer telephone inquiries direct calls to appropriate technician or pharmacist as needed
- Ensure smooth workflow with clear handoffs pharmacy staff
- Deliver excellent customer service to both patients and team members
2. Non-Prescription Merchandise and Supplies
- Proactively monitor and reorder non-prescription merchandise as needed
- Unpack sort count and label incoming merchandise
- Organize and restock shelves to ensure product availability and visibility
3. Pharmacy Environment Maintenance
- Keep work areas counters and shelves clean and organized
- Perform regular shelf-facing to maintain a neat and professional appearance
Requirements
Education & Licensure:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Must be registered in Wisconsin to work in a pharmacy at time of hire
Experience:
- One year of experience in customer service preferred
- Previous health care experience preferred
Knowledge Skills & Abilities:
- Excellent communication (verbal and written) and listening skills
- Demonstrated ability to work independently with little direction and manage multiple demands and priorities
- Able to handle frequent interruptions and adapt to changes in workload and work schedule
- Able to set priorities make critical decisions and respond quickly to requests
- Fosters a team environment
- Self-directed and highly engaged but also able to work well in a team
- Ability to solve problems and encourage others in collaborative problem solving
- Able to work cooperatively and effectively with providers staff and patients
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Prolonged periods of standing bending and reaching
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
