Job Title: Medicaid Support Technician
Location:Talent Services located at the Teacher Administrative Center (TAC) 3215 Cuming Street Omaha NE 68131
Reports to: Coordinator Talent Services Special Education
Work Schedule/FLSA Status:261-day 12-month / Non-exempt
Salary Schedule:
H06/91C Starting rate is $32.93 per hour. Salary credit may be awarded for applicable experience.
Work Hours: 8.0 hours per day Monday-Friday 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Position Purpose:
The Talent Services Medicaid Support role will support Nebraska Education-Based Medicaid Administrative Claiming (NEBMAC) and Medicaid in Public Schools (MiPS) by managing the system that verifies eligible Medicaid service providers and monitoring the Random Moment Time Studies completed by OPS staff.
Essential Performance Responsibilities
- Support eligible staff in applying for a National Provider Identifier (NPI) number.
- Determine eligible service providers through verification of NPI numbers and required licensure.
- Manage the Districts Medicaid provider account through Maximus.
- Manage the eligible provider staff list by adding new staff to the Maximus system and end-dating staff when employment ends.
- Search the exclusion databases monthly for each eligible direct service provider.
- Monitor Random Moment Time Study completion rates and contact staff not completing the required survey.
- Collaborate with Special Education and other departments to monitor the completion and accuracy of service entry documentation entered by staff.
- Communicate with Accounting & Finance to update the Medicaid Staff Pool Lists.
- Communicate with IMS to pull appropriate data on Medicaid services and Medicaid-eligible students.
- During an audit collaborate with Special Education to pull necessary documentation for the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS).
- Communicate withSpecial Education to obtain physician signatures for eligible students.
- Communicate with other departments managing various NEBMAC and MiPS requirements.
- Attend monthly Medicaid work group meetings.
Additional Duties
Performs other related tasks as assigned by the supervisor and other central office administrators designated by the Superintendent.
Equipment: This position requires the use of basic office equipment such as computers copiers scanners and fax machines. Must always comply with OPSs guidelines for equipment use.
Travel: Limited travel within the District may berequired.

- Must be able to respond rapidly in emergencies.
- Must have organization time management communication and interpersonal skills.
- Work in an office environment school buildings and warehouse settings.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- An associates degree or equivalent combination of experience and training is preferred.
- Advanced skills in computer/technology/systems.
- PeopleSoft Infinite Campus and TalentEd experience preferred.
- Demonstrated technology skills with Microsoft Office Suite including Office 365 Word and Excel.
- Outstanding oral and written communication skills.
- Detail-oriented with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to effectively manage time and a variety of responsibilities.
- Knowledge of data privacy practices and laws; experience with a Windows-based computing environment.
- Ability to communicate at a high level both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to deal with confidential matters.
- Capable of working effectively and cooperatively with people from diverse ethnic and educational backgrounds.
- Ability to be organized detail-oriented and self-motivated.

This position is treated as a full-time non-exempt classified position. The terms of your employment will be governed by applicable state laws regulating employment in a Nebraska public school and Board of Education policies as those laws and policies may change from time to time.
