We are hiring Mandarin Over-the-Phone Interpreters (OPI) to support our USCIS contract. This role provides real-time telephonic interpretation between Mandarin and English during immigration interviews hearings and related proceedings.
Responsibilities
- Provide accurate and impartial Mandarin English telephonic interpretation for USCIS officers applicants and stakeholders.
- Interpret in immigration legal and administrative contexts while maintaining confidentiality.
- Adhere to USCIS/DHS security and compliance protocols.
- Handle scheduled assignments as well as urgent requests.
- Participate in training and quality assurance reviews.
Qualifications
- Native or near-native fluency in Mandarin Chinese and English.
- 2 years of professional interpreting experience (immigration legal medical or government preferred).
- Familiarity with interpreter ethics and standards (NCIHC ATA or RID).
- Strong communication skills and ability to remain accurate under pressure.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen or permanent resident eligible for Tier 3/Tier 5 clearance.

Compensation: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
