Hourly Pay Range:

$24.86 - $37.29 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidates expertise and years of experience among other factors.

License Practical Nurse

Position Highlights:

  • Position: License Practical Nurse
  • Location: Northwest Community Hospital 880 W Central Rd. Arlington Heights IL.
  • Full Time: 40 hours/week
  • Hours: Monday Friday (8a-4:30p)

What you will do:

Reporting to the Clinical Director or Clinical Unit Leader performs as a member of the Patient Care Team. Performs patient care tasks delegated by and under the direction of the Registered Nurse. Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to assess treat and provide care appropriate to the age(s) of the patients served on his or her assigned unit. This job description was developed in accordance with the Illinois Nurse Practice Act and the ANA Scope and Standards of Practice.

  • Provides patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) and in accordance with the State of IL Nurse Practice Act based upon the developmental stages of the patient: Assists RN in patient care activities and tasks as delegated. Administers medications as delegated by the RN and within their scope of practice.
  • Collects and documents patient monitoring data. Observes documents and reports changes in patients condition/environment to the RN. Documents changes in existing Care Plan after collaboration with RN.
  • Communicates effectively with patients and members of the health care team. Conveys information regarding patient care needs to appropriate health care team members. Interacts positively and therapeutically with patients and family members based upon the developmental stages of the patient.
  • Shares responsibility for care and maintenance of equipment and supplies on unit.
  • Participates in and supports continuous quality improvement activities.
  • Adheres to all Northwest Community Hospital standards policies and procedures.

What you will need:

  • Education: Graduate from a state accredited School of Practical Nursing Current LPN license from the state of Illinois.
  • Experience: Minimum 1 year experience as an LPN preferred.
  • Certifications: Current CPR certification through the American Heart Association.
