Job Summary

Respiratory Therapist assesses treats and cares for patients with breathing or cardiopulmonary disorders across all ages using diagnostic tests and various therapies to improve lung function.

Key responsibilities include performing pulmonary function tests administering ventilators and medications educating patients and families and collaborating with physicians and nurses to develop and modify treatment plans.

MD or DO degree from an accredited institution Board Certified in Family Medicine (ABFM or AOBFP) Eligible for or currently licensed to practice in Hawaii Experience or strong interest in medical education Inpatient and outpatient clinical skills OB optional but welcome Enthusiasm for working in a rural/underserved community and teaching setting Prior faculty or preceptor experience preferred but not required
