Job Summary
Department: Headache Sub-Specialty Clinic
Join our Headache Sub-Specialty Clinic a fast-paced outpatient setting focused on the care and management of patients with complex headache and migraine disorders. We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to support the clinic team with key responsibilities including procedural assistance and Botox administration and management for eligible patients.
The RN is accountable for coordinating nursing care including direct patient care education and transitions of care. The RN supports professional nursing practice across various settings and throughout the continuum of care to meet the needs of patients and families.
Functioning within the Mayo Clinic Nursing Professional Practice Model the RN will plan implement evaluate and communicate all phases of care. This position offers an excellent opportunity to work closely with neurologists and advanced practice providers in a collaborative specialized clinical environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide high-quality patient-centered care in a fast-paced headache and migraine outpatient clinic.
- Support and assist in clinical procedures including Botox injections for migraine management.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to coordinate patient care plans and follow-ups.
- Educate patients and families about headache treatment plans medications and self-care strategies.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and serve as a resource and mentor to others.
This role is eligible for TN sponsorship. Holders of F1 status eligible for post-completion OPT are welcome to apply. This role is NOT eligible to participate in the F-1 STEM OPT extension program. Successful sponsorship will require state licensure and completion of the VisaScreen or equivalent certification.
Qualifications
- Graduate of a baccalaureate nursing program.
- Minimum of 2 years RN experience preferred.
- Neurology experience in inpatient or outpatient settings preferred but not required.
- Strong procedural skills and attention to detail particularly in relation to medication administration and patient education.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced outpatient setting with frequent patient turnover.
- Excellent communication organization and critical thinking skills.
Additional Information:
A subset of employees may be required to use their personal vehicle as part of the role.
License and Certifications
- Current RN license by applicable state requirements.
- Arizona and Florida - Maintains Basic Life Support (BLS) competency.
- Positions that are not on campus may not require current Basic Life Support (BLS) competency as determined by the work area.
- Additional state licensure(s) and/or specialty certification/training as required by the work area.
