Tri-County Regional Centre for Education
The Tri-County Regional Centre for Education (TCRCE) encompasses the three (3) Counties of Shelburne Yarmouth and Digby serving approximately 6100 students in twenty-two (22) schools composed of 13Elementary Schools 6 High Schools 1 Middle School and 2 Elementary/High Schools.

Route Description

Qualifications
- Valid drivers license (Class 2B03 - Bus drivers license with air brakesendorsement).
- Completion of Tri-County Regional Centre for Educationbus drivers training course orequivalent.
- Proven ability to communicate and work alongside diverse cultural and racial backgrounds.
- Demonstrated ability to value the voice and contribution of others while remaining open to corrective criticism.
- Completion of WHMIS and First Aid or willingness to obtain upon hire.
- Ability to work collaboratively with other transportation staff.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Effective interpersonal skills.
Responsibilities:
- Operate a school bus in accordance with all safety standards as prescribed by the laws of the Province of Nova Scotia and in accordance with TCRCEpolicies and procedures;
- Perform pre trip inspections at the beginning of each work day;
- Perform pre trip inspections prior to extra/co-curricular trips;
- Complete all transportation related forms as requiredand submit in a timely manner(Hours of Work & Passenger Sheets Daily Inspection Sheets etc);
- Maintain discipline on school buses and follow TCRCE policies and procedures of the incident on buses;
- Report all accidents in accordance with TCRCE policy and procedures;
- Keep inside & outside of the bus clean in accordance with TCRCE Standards;
- Reports mechanical problems to the appropriate designate;
- Operate the school bus in accordance with the route plan and schedule;
- Attend all bus driver in-services provided by the TCRCE;
- Other related duties as assigned.
Internal CUPE Local 964 Members will be given first consideration.
Hours may change due to overnight resting spot.
