What Youll Do
The Site Outage Lead provides direct support to Y-12 Site Outage and works directly with System Health Engineering Operations and Production Organizations in the planning and execution of Facility and Site Outages. Site Outage Leads are responsible for developing and implementing all phases of the outage program and provides coordination and oversight of outage preparation activities final development of integrated outage schedules milestone reviews and outage execution.
This position requires a self-starter with ability to work under minimal supervision. The Site Outage Lead will be the centralpoint of contact between System Health Engineering Operations and Production to coordinate Outages based on Long Range Outage Plan. The Site Outage Lead will need a good working relationship and communication with other organizations to ensure details of outage work is properly communicated and supported as needed for successful execution of scheduled outages.
Responsibility
- Integrating outage project objectives by leading reviews for project proposals plans and production schedule impacts.
- Approving engineering outage milestones and leading outage execution reviews of engineering drawings and specifications.
- Integrating the outage challenge reviews to determine project specifications by studying product design customer requirements and performance standards.
- Leading and monitoring engineering procurement engineering design reviews and manage procurement outage milestones.
- Integrating and updating outage schedules to ensure outage tasks are properly planned tracked and executed.
- Building Integrated outage plans to provide clear and concise documented direction and coordination to the outage team.
- Evaluating outage risks using Industrial Engineering Six Sigma tools and develop risk mitigation plans.
- Managing and monitoring outage equipment installation configuration pre-operational testing performance testing and return to service of engineered systems and components.
- Working in conjunction with the assigned engineering design authority representative to implement configuration management and design controls for outage equipment and systems.
- Managing daily work in progress meeting with multidiscipline technical staff to ensure outage progress meets the customers return to service objectives.
- Technical resolution by applying engineering knowledge problem solving and expertise needed to lead resolutions for technical issues such as design discipline interferences procurement specifications designinstallation constructability preoperational and performance test planning and execution return to service and impacts to the customer.
- Integrating system health planning into the outage scope and manage the execution of the system reliability improvements.
- Capturing and analyzing data to assure outage program goals and associated risks are being appropriately executed.
- Managing and integrating the outage team through the outage planning process and managing the daily status of the outage execution phase in the field through system maintenance blitzes campaigns and outages.
- Communicating input to stakeholders to ensure coordination of online/offline priorities incorporation of planning and scheduling into multi-year priorities and general consideration of the outage program.
- Closing out outages by documenting outage completion lessons learned and corrective actions.

Minimum Job Requirements
- Bachelors degree: Minimum 4 years of relevant experience.
- OR Masters degree: Minimum 3 years of relevant experience.
- OR PhD: No experience.
- Twelve or more years of education and/or relevant experience may be considered to satisfy educational and years-of-experience requirements for this posting.
- In addition the applicant must meet the requirements of DOE O 426.2A (i.e. High School diploma and 3 years nuclear experience; or a DOE O 426.2A alternative). DOE 426.2A Nuclear experience requirements can be satisfied following the interim newly hired personnel will not be assigned duties that could impact the safety basis of nuclear facilities. (Ref. - Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or related technical discipline.
- Experience with facility operations or regulated manufacturing environment is preferred.

- Advanced computer skills with specific work experience using Microsoft Office Suite applications (Word Excel) SharePoint.
