Hybrid workforce:

Experity offers Team Members the opportunity to work remotely or in an office. While this position allows remote work we require Team Members to live within a commutable distance from one of our locations to ensure you are available to come into the office as needed.

Job Summary:

The Senior Engineering Managers primary responsibility is to lead and grow leaders within Experitys software engineering organization. This role requires building and empowering high-performing teams fostering a culture of accountability and ensuring consistent delivery of secure high-quality software. The Senior Engineering Manager will manage both engineering managers and individual contributors ensuring balance between scaling leadership capacity and providing direct coaching to senior engineers. A key responsibility is mentoring senior technical leads and lead engineers preparing them for future management opportunities while driving current delivery outcomes. This leader is expected to balance operational excellence with innovation strengthen organizational clarity and model Experitys core values by creating an environment of trust focus and empowerment.

Responsibilities:

Lead and Develop Leaders:

    • Directly manage and mentor engineering managers and individual contributors ensuring clarity of accountability and support.
    • Build succession depth by identifying empowering and developing future leaders from among senior engineers and technical leads.
    • Provide structured feedback and career development planning that helps leaders and engineers thrive.

Strategic and Technical Alignment:

    • Partner with architecture to shape the technical vision and ensure sound design decisions support long-term scalability and modernization.
    • Translate product goals into clear engineering strategies balancing feature delivery with technical debt reduction.
    • Anticipate organizational needs proactively plan for staffing and align engineering priorities to company strategy.

Culture and Accountability:

    • Create a culture where accountability dependability and reliability compound into team excellence.
    • Foster psychological safety and trust ensuring every voice is valued while driving towards high standards.
    • Model a balance of empathy and rigor holding teams to high expectations while demonstrating deep commitment to their success.

Execution and Delivery:

    • Oversee multiple engineering teams to deliver high-quality secure releases on time.
    • Champion agile practices CI/CD automation and adoption of AI-powered developer tools.
    • Review performance data and metrics regularly to ensure predictability and velocity in delivery.

Cross-Functional Leadership:

    • Drive seamless collaboration across Product QA Architecture and Operations.
    • Represent engineering to executives and business stakeholders with clarity precision and strategic insight.
    • Resolve conflicts constructively and ensure alignment across diverse priorities.


Education:

  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Travel:

  • Ability to travel as needed (minimal).

Experience:

  • Eight plus (8) years managing engineering teams with at least 4 years managing managers or senior technical leaders.
  • Proven track record of scaling and mentoring engineering organizations. Experience managing distributed teams
  • Experience in modern and legacy technology environments with demonstrated ability to lead through transitions.
  • Strong technical background in software engineering (NodeJS Typescript C# .NET Java cloud architecture microservices distributed systems or comparable stack) with enough depth to influence design and strategy.
  • Experience driving agile transformation process improvement and technical debt reduction
  • Demonstrated success in balancing operational efficiency with innovation.
  • Exposure to and advocacy for adoption of AI coding agents and developer efficiency tools (e.g. GitHub Copilot Claude Code Augment ZenCoder Cursor Windsurf Warp). Hands-on experience is highly desirable.

Compensation:

  • Budgeted between $121400 and $161500 dependent upon years of applicable experience.

Our urgent care solutions include:

  • Electronic Medical Records (EMR): Software that healthcare providers use to input patient data such as medical history diagnoses treatment plans medications and test results.
  • Patient Engagement (PE): Software that shows patients the wait times at various clinics allows patients to reserve a spot in line if theres a wait and book the appointment.
  • Practice Management (PM): Software that the clinic front desk staff uses to register the patient once they arrive for their appointment.
  • Billing and Revenue Cycle Management (RCM): Software that manages coding billing and payer contracts for clinics so they dont have to.
  • Teleradiology: Board certified radiologist providing accurate and timely reads of results from X-rays CT scans MRIs and ultrasounds for our urgent care clients.
  • Consulting: Consulting services for urgent care clinics to assist with opening expanding and enhancing clients businesses
