OVERVIEW OF THE ROLE
Were seeking a skilled Wind Fleet Electrical Engineer to play a crucial role in advancing renewable energy infrastructure. This position offers the opportunity to work with cutting-edge wind turbine technology ensuring optimal performance of generator systems that power communities with clean sustainable energy. Youll be at the forefront of the green energy revolution making a direct impact on our nations sustainable future.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Operate and maintain wind turbine generators and power distribution systems
- Diagnose and troubleshoot generator system issues using advanced diagnostic tools
- Implement solutions for electrical rotating machine problems
- Perform vibration monitoring Motor Current Signature Analysis (MCSA ESA) and endoscopic inspections
- Develop and write repair operations and maintenance procedures
- Conduct root cause analysis for system failures
- Travel to wind sites and vendor facilities (approximately 20%)
- Climb wind turbines for hands-on maintenance and inspection work
- Collaborate with field service personnel to provide technical support
- Balance multiple projects while maintaining data-driven decision making
REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
- Engineering Degree with 5 years of experience
- 3-5 years of hands-on experience with large motors and/or generators
- Strong understanding of electrical rotating machines and electromagnetic theory
- Proficiency with diagnostic tools (Vibration Monitoring MCSA ESA)
- Familiarity with ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems
- Experience with root cause analysis methodologies
- Excellent technical writing and communication skills
- Ability to translate technical concepts into business cases
- Self-motivated with strong learning capabilities
- Physical ability to climb wind turbines
- Willingness to travel up to 20%
