Job Summary:
This Registered Nurse position focuses on providing skilled nursing care in a busy Level III Obstetrical unit within a hospital setting. The role requires collaboration with the interdisciplinary team efficient patient assessment and treatment and the ability to quickly adapt to a fast-paced environment. A minimum of two years of experience in Labor & Delivery and Postpartum care is required.

Responsibilities:
- Providing skilled nursing care to patients in the Labor & Delivery and Postpartum units.
- Performing patient assessments medication administration and treatment planning.
- Collaborating effectively with physicians other nurses and support staff.
- Managing patient charts and documentation within the electronic medical record system (EPIC).
- Participating in unit-based orientation and training programs.
- Adapting to a fast-paced environment and handling a high volume of patients.
- Floating to other units as needed based on staffing requirements.
Required Skills & Certifications:
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Washington.
- Minimum of two years of experience in Labor & Delivery and Postpartum nursing.
- ACLS certification.
- AWHONN Intermediate certification.
- BCLS certification.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Skills & Certifications:
- Bachelors degree in Nursing.
Special Considerations:
- This is a very busy unit (400 births in the summer).
- Experience with a high volume of patients is preferred.
- The core staff is relatively inexperienced so experienced travelers are highly valued.
- Floating between units is required based on need.
- No holiday RTO is permitted. All RTO must be submitted at the time of application.
- Pending licenses are accepted.
Scheduling:
- 3 or 4 twelve-hour day shifts.
- Typically every other weekend but may be more frequent to cover staff absences.
- Guaranteed hours are 36 or 48 per contract.
- Three-day orientation (Monday Tuesday Wednesday) during the first week.
