Overview:
The Packaging Maintenance Mechanic will perform proactive preventative/predictive maintenance repairs and improvements on packaging equipment in an automated food processing facility while keeping a high regard for employee safety food quality and machine efficiency.
Heres what youll do:
- Ensures self and coworkers are compliant with all safety rules and regulations (LOTO fall protection hot work etc.)
- Have the experience/knowledge of Daumar/Giro packaging machines and weighers or similar packaging machines
- Perform uptime and downtime preventative maintenance inspections on weighers baggers and conveyors
- Troubleshoot and perform corrective work on mechanical electrical (120v 220v single and three phase 480v) pneumatic and hydraulic systems within the packaging facility
- Identify and execute improvements on equipment documentation work systems and processes
- Collaborates with different levels of employees in various departments of the facility through face-to-face telephone email and radio communications
- Provide training and development to operators and other maintenance personnel
- Research system and component specifications using equipment manuals schematics parts breakdowns online information and vendor communication
- Dismantle and reassemble complex pieces of machinery in an efficient precise and reliable manner
- Operates cutting welding and various other fabrication equipment to cut form and/or join materials
- Creates/modifies work orders in Computerized Maintenance Management System and documents details of work performed
- Research parts gather quotes and generates requests
- Escalate technical procedural and personnel related issues to direct lead or supervisor as necessary
- Work with moral integrity on a consistent basis
- Performs other assigned duties and projects
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications :
Heres what youll bring to the table:
- High School diploma or GED equivalent required; Technical degree and three years or more of related experience and/or training in a production/manufacturing environment is preferred (or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Effective English communication is a must bilingual is preferred
- Ability to apply concepts such as fractions percentages ratios and proportions to practical situations is preferred
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written oral diagram or schedule
- Ability to read analyze interpret and present out general business items to groups of coworkers managers clients customers and the general public
- Must be able to frequently move items weighing up to 25 pounds as needed
- To successfully support the business needs the employee will be expected to work overtime weekends and rotating/varying shifts as well as be available for emergency call-out as needed.
Pay Range: $33.50 - $39.00. Final compensation will be dependent upon skills & experience.
