Job Description
This is a remote position.
Our client a global healthcare company is looking for a highly skilled SAP PP Consultant to help shape and deliver production planning solutions as part of a global S/4HANA program. This is a hands-on role requiring both technical expertise and strong business/functional process knowledge with opportunities to contribute to global roll-outs and continuous process improvement.
This is a 6-month contractual position with likelihood of extension. Candidates must be able to support the clients preferred EST and/or CET time zone.
Key Responsibilities
- Work with business users to understand production planning needs and translate them into practical SAP PP solutions
- Configure core PP areas such as Discrete Manufacturing Process Industries (PP-PI) Production Orders and Planning strategies
- Partner with teams across MM QM SD and EWM to ensure processes flow seamlessly end to end
- Support testing cycles (unit integration UAT) helping resolve issues and keeping projects on track
- Contribute to data migration and validation for production planning data
- Document processes and share knowledge with colleagues and end users
- Provide training and post-go-live support so teams are confident using new solutions
- Take part in global roll-outs and help drive continuous improvements
Requirements
- 5 years of hands-on SAP PP experience including at least 2 full project implementations
- Strong skills in PP configuration (PP-PI production orders planning strategies)
- Experience working with related modules like MM QM SD APO/PPDS
- Proven experience working in S/4HANA environments
- Ability to communicate clearly and collaborate with both technical and business teams
- Problem-solving mindset with a focus on making processes easier and more efficient
- Background in pharma healthcare or other regulated industries is highly preferred
5 8+ years in enterprise integrations with 3+ years hands-on in SAP CPI/Cloud Integration (or CPI + prior PI/PO) designing and building iFlows at scale. Strong command of integration protocols (HTTPS/REST/SOAP, SFTP, IDoc, OData) and transformation (XML/XSLT/JSON); working knowledge of Groovy scripting. Experience integrating S/4HANA with SAP cloud apps (e.g., Ariba, SuccessFactors) and third-party systems (partners, vendors, legacy). Proven operations/monitoring expertise in CPI with structured incident & change management; strong debugging and performance tuning skills. Security know-how across OAuth2, certificates/keystores, IP allowlisting, Cloud Connector; awareness of GxP/Part 11 implications for integration logs and electronic records. Excellent documentation, stakeholder communication, and delivery ownership in multi-team programs. Collaboration with back-end teams on IDoc/Proxy/AIF patterns and error processing; basic ABAP debugging for integration issues. CI/CD knowledge (e.g., Git-based transports) and Agile delivery practices. Prior healthcare/life-sciences projects with CSV/CSA awareness. SAP BTP services exposure (Integration Suite, API Management, Event Mesh); familiarity with API Business Hub. Education & Certifications Bachelor s in Computer Science/IT or related discipline (Master s a plus). SAP Integration Suite/CPI certification preferred; additional SAP certifications a plus.
