Join our Commercial Team at L&Q
L&Q are looking for a proven Commercial Professional for the newly created Head of Commercial within the Property Services Directorate. You will have extensive Senior Management experience. The role reports directly into the Property Services Commercial Director and will be responsible for at around 15 staff of differing experience levels.
The Head of Commercial is responsible for the leadership and strategic management of commercial contractual and general quantity surveying issues on a project / group of Operations basis to ensure full contractual and monetary entitlement in the most advantageous terms to L&Q.
You will take full ownership of the department and lead motivate communicate with develop appraise and performance manage staff to ensure they are fully motivated to achieve best performance.
The Head of Commercial works with the Head of Operational colleagues and all other relevant colleagues to ensure that all significant project issues and correspondence and all necessary contractual processes have been observed.
You will be responsible for the management of third party contractors and suppliers to always achieve best value to a programme whilst protecting the business commercially and providing accurate financial forecasting.
The postholder will have experience in providing mitigation strategies for immediate implementation of all matters relating to contract and subcontract and will be accountable for savings for department.
You will assist the organisation to ensure the procurement needs of department are met and compliant with Procurement Act 23 and other regulations.

Your impact in the role:
To be considered for this roles candidates will be able to demonstrate experience knowledge and understanding of:
Managing budgetary constraints using forensic cost control techniques
Strong analytical skills - must be highly numerate and data interrogation skills
Strong leadership skills and experience managing others and working collaboratively with others
Experience of managing principal and subcontractor arrangements and relationships
Providing mitigation strategies for immediate implementation of all matters relating to contract and subcontract and will be accountable for savings for department.
Commercial Awareness with good legal/contractual
Competency in use of standard methods of measurement
What youll bring:
Degree or HNC level in a related discipline or equivalent substantial experience
It is desirable that you will be a professionally qualified member of CIOB/RICS
