Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and efficient Duty Engineer to join our team in Chennai India. As a Duty Engineer you will play a crucial role in maintaining the operational excellence of our facility by ensuring all building systems are functioning optimally and addressing maintenance issues promptly.
- Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of HVAC plumbing electrical and mechanical systems to ensure optimal performance
- Respond promptly and professionally to guest and staff maintenance requests resolving issues efficiently
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities repairs and equipment performance using computerized systems
- Implement and support preventive maintenance schedules to minimize downtime and extend equipment life
- Monitor energy usage and actively participate in energy conservation initiatives
- Respond to emergencies such as power failures equipment breakdowns and safety hazards with a sense of urgency
- Collaborate with contractors and vendors for specialized repairs and servicing
- Ensure compliance with health safety and environmental standards including local building codes and regulations
- Assist in supervising maintenance staff or technicians during shifts as required
- Participate in shift rotations including nights weekends and holidays demonstrating flexibility and resilience
Qualifications :
- Diploma or certification in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or a related technical field
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in a similar role preferably in a hotel or hospitality environment
- Comprehensive knowledge of building systems including electrical HVAC plumbing and fire safety
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and manuals
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills with a detail-oriented approach
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a focus on customer service
- Familiarity with local building codes and regulations in Chennai
- Knowledge of energy conservation practices and their implementation
- Basic computer skills for record-keeping reporting and using maintenance management systems
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Willingness to work in shifts and respond to emergency situations demonstrating flexibility and resilience
- Physical ability to perform maintenance tasks and handle equipment
