Our client a well-established and reputable used truck dealership is looking for an experienced Commercial Truck and Yellow Metal Equipment Sales Executive with strong buying experience. Based in Johannesburg the ideal candidate will possess expertise in sourcing and procuring trucks and yellow metal equipment for resale ensuring a well-rounded and high-demand inventory.
Position Overview: As a Vehicle Buyer you will be instrumental in sourcing quality trucks and yellow metal equipment to support the dealerships growth and meet market demand. Your ability to negotiate with suppliers understand market trends and assess vehicle quality will ensure the dealership maintains a competitive edge in the market.
Key Responsibilities:
- Source and purchase used trucks and yellow metal equipment from auctions trade-ins and direct purchases.
- Analyze market trends to ensure inventory meets customer demand and aligns with the dealerships objectives.
- Negotiate competitive pricing and favorable terms with suppliers to maximize profitability.
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with industry suppliers auction houses and key partners.
- Collaborate with sales and inventory teams to manage stock levels ensuring a balanced product mix.
- Conduct thorough quality assessments of vehicles to ensure they meet the dealerships resale standards.
- Monitor inventory performance adjusting purchasing strategies as needed.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 1 years of experience in sourcing and purchasing trucks and yellow metal equipment.
- Strong understanding of the used truck and yellow metal equipment market.
- Proven negotiation and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to accurately assess vehicle quality and determine resale potential.
- Strong organizational analytical and detail-oriented skills.
- Valid drivers license and willingness to travel for sourcing activities.
