Position Summary
The Permitting Data Manager plays a critical role in overseeing the integrity accuracy and timeliness of permitting data across multiple jurisdictions. This position supports the telecommunications deployment team by managing permit tracking systems coordinating with internal and external stakeholders and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain full visibility into permit status across all active markets.
- Monitor escalations and delays especially in complex jurisdictions.
- Administer and optimize permit tracking tools (e.g. Excel QuickBase Google Drive).
- Ensure consistent data entry and documentation standards.
- Review permit cards submittals and city notes for accuracy.
- Ensure alignment with DOT Metro Act and local permitting regulations.
- Generate weekly and ad-hoc reports for leadership.
- Flag bottlenecks and provide actionable insights to improve workflows.
- Support daily check-ins with permit coordinators and assistants.
- Assign tasks and validate completion timelines.
- Liaise with city officials legal teams and engineering partners.
- Assist in preparing documentation for audits or legal inquiries.
- Support the permitting team by conducting targeted market research to inform and streamline permit process planning and preparation.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Business Data Management Telecommunications or related field.
- 3 years of experience in permitting data management or telecom operations.
- Proficiency in Excel QuickBase and GIS tools.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Familiarity with fiber deployment and municipal permitting processes.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with regulatory compliance in telecom.
- PMP or similar project management certification.
- Ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive process improvements.
