About the team and the role:
The eBay Cloud team powers the foundational infrastructure that supports thousands of eBay applications. We operate and manage one of the industrys largest private cloud platforms based on open-source technology which includes hundreds of Kubernetes clusters and millions of compute instances.
Our mission is to provide end-to-end governance and support for the full lifecycle of eBay applications running on our platform. We focus on enhancing the platforms cloud-native capabilities to ensure these applications are reliable efficient scalable and secure.
We are seeking an experienced Cloud Support Engineer to join us. Youll be a key contributor helping eBay developers adopt cloud-native applications on our platform. This requires a deep understanding of our core cloud technology and custom functionalities.
You will drive the adoption of cloud-native principles focusing on improving developer productivity through CI/CD automation and ensuring security compliance. Were looking for a candidate with at least 5 years of experience in a similar role with a strong focus on cloud support within a large-scale environment.
What you will accomplish:
Enable eBay native cloud adoption by providing expert support solutions and best practices to developers.
Work collaboratively with cloud engineers to triage and resolve complex system issues.
Translate user feedback and requirements into actionable improvements for the cloud platform.
Utilize GenAI to develop tools and automation for cloud administration.
Champion DevOps culture and principles prioritizing automation to maintain a high level of reliability and efficiency.
What you will bring:
Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science Engineering or a related field.
5 years of experience in large-scale distributed systems with a deep understanding of cloud platforms schedulers operating systems and Kubernetes.
Proficient in programming with Go Python or other relevant languages with demonstrated experience in building automation tools and solutions using GenAI.
Expert in troubleshooting and quickly debugging complex issues in distributed systems.
Proven ability to manage multiple projects independently in a high-pressure environment consistently driving for results.
Strong communication and collaboration skills with a focus on fostering a culture of DevOps and continuous automation.
