Summary
Under direct supervision of Joplin Schools Technology Services the apprentice from the Franklin Technology Center Computer Information Systems program will install maintain test and repair systems. The student/employee will work with their program instructor FTC Special Services Coordinator and Technology Services to meet the competencies/goals of their apprenticeship program.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Performs basic problem solving and assistance on various software applications and hardware systems.
- Provide individual instruction and/or training to users on new or updated technologies.
- Performs routine technical assistance and maintenance duties.
- Document projects and processes.
- Assists with tracking inventory levels of equipment materials and software.
- Performs routine technological systems support maintenance and testing for proper upkeep of systems; troubleshoots and resolves general system hardware and software.
- Assists with the installation configuration and maintenance of computers workstations and/or other related equipment and devices.
- Maintain current knowledgeof technology equipment applicable laws regulations standards and/or systems.
- Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

- Ability to communicate technical guidance and instruction to users on the use of PC and/or mainframe applications and systems.
Conditions of Employment
- Successful completion of apprenticeship documentation with the Franklin Technology Center Special Services Coordinator.
Working Conditions
- Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment.
- Moderate physical activity. Requires handling of average-weight objects up to 25 pounds and/or standing and/or walking.
