PRIMARY PURPOSE:
The SCI-Tech Lab Aide will provide highlevel science support for the campus by ensuring that the computer assisted instructional lab functions effectively to reach instructional goals established by professional staff.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Certification:
High School Diploma or equivalent required
Associate degree or a minimum of 48 college hours required
Paraprofessional Certification preferred (required upon employment)
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Working knowledge of computer applications and other associated equipment; skills in organization time management and interpersonal skill; fluent in both English and Spanish
Experience:
One (1) year of experience in working with computers preferred

Hourly Pay Range:
Minimum: $13.75
Maximum: $19.25
Note:Starting pay for a new hire in a pay range plan will be determined individually based on each persons job-related experience and salaries paid to peer employees in the same position with similar experience.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Maintain an instructional and functional computer setting conducive for student learning.
2. Assist the teacher with use of SCI-Tech Curriculum and selecting appropriate instructional lessons from each student.
3. Assist the teacher in monitoring students to maximize time on task to ensure student success.
4. Maintain generate and issue appropriate computer reports as needed.
5. Assist principal or other supervisor in developing the computer schedule.
6. Motivate children to excel in computer activities through various student incentive programs.
7. Correct or report any hardware/software malfunctions.
8. Maintain an inventory of equipment and supplies (hardware/software).
9. Maintain proper cleanliness storage and maintenance of hardware and software.
10. Assist in supervising students throughout the workday.
11. Follow McAllen ISD customer service standards.
12. Perform other duties as assigned by immediate supervisor (primary evaluator) in accordance with funding
source guidelines.

Ability to lift and move boxes occasional lifting and/or moving up to 45 pounds and over; long periods of sitting and standing ability to provide for sanitation needs and student hygiene as required; assist in the retaining of students in crisis situation
