Job Summary

We are seeking someone to join our team as a Global Financial Crimes (GFC): Investigations Quality Oversight Officer to play a critical role in identifying potentially suspicious activity protecting vulnerable individuals and safeguarding the integrity of the financial system.

In the Legal & Compliance division we assist the Firm in achieving its business objectives by facilitating and overseeing the Firms management of legal regulatory and franchise risk. This is a Vice President level position within the GFC Investigations team.

GFC coordinates day-to-day implementation of the Firms financial crime prevention efforts including governance oversight and execution of the Firms Anti-Money Laundering (AML) Sanctions Anti-Corruption and Government and Political Activities Compliance programs.


What youll do in the role:

Conduct quality reviews for investigations into a wide variety of suspected financial crimes including money laundering terrorist financing market manipulation insider trading trafficking fraud public corruption and bribery cybercrime and tax evasion.
Examine AML and Fraud investigation case files for completeness accuracy and consistency.
Review and validate SAR filings including SAR narratives and supporting documentation to ensure clarity accuracy and alignment with FinCEN rules regulatory guidance and internal policies.
Identify activity trends and potential process enhancements and provide actionable insights to improve investigative quality.
Collaborate with team leads and management to provide feedback for investigators to improve investigation techniques investigation quality and SAR form preparation.


What youll bring to the role:

Bachelors degree or equivalent military experience. Law degree legal or prosecutorial experience a plus.
5 years of strong investigative or related experience with emphasis on BSA/AML including writing and preparing SARs in accordance with applicable regulatory requirements.
Strong understanding of the financial markets and banking including broker-dealer product-based knowledge and the ability to learn concepts quickly.
Excellent communication leadership and presentation skills with the ability to communicate effectively through all levels of the organization.
Self-motivated and independent operator with the ability and maturity to make decisions and operate in fast paced and dynamic settings.
CAMS or equivalent AML certification/license or ability to obtain certification within first 15 months of employment.


Where youll be working:

This role will require in office attendance 3 days/week. Two of those days will be Anchor Days where you will be in the office with your teammates to learn grow and collaborate in person.

Director: Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $70000.00 and $125000.00 per year at the commencement of employment. However base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package which depending on the position may also include commission earnings incentive compensation discretionary bonuses other short and long-term incentive packages and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.

VP: Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $95000.00 and $165000.00 per year at the commencement of employment. However base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package which depending on the position may also include commission earnings incentive compensation discretionary bonuses other short and long-term incentive packages and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.

Director: Expected base pay rates for the role will be between 90000 and 155000 per year at the commencement of employment. However base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package which depending on the position may also include commission earnings incentive compensation discretionary bonuses other short and long-term incentive packages and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.

VP: Expected base pay rates for the role will be between 120000 and 205000 per year at the commencement of employment. However base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package which depending on the position may also include commission earnings incentive compensation discretionary bonuses other short and long-term incentive packages and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
