Position Overview
Nationwide IT Services NIS is seeking an experienced Specialist Quality Control III for a potential opportunity to provide expert-level quality control support for US Navy Navigation equipment and systems. The successful candidate will apply advanced technical knowledge and hands-on expertise to ensure products services and processes meet rigorous quality and safety standards. This is a key position requiring recognized leadership in the field.

Minimum Experience & Qualifications
  • 5 years of professional experience solving complex technical problems.
  • Formal training in engineering and/or software design/maintenance.
  • Practical understanding of engineering concepts and processes.
  • Proven ability to ensure products services and procedures comply with quality and safety standards.
  • Experience testing equipment to confirm operational effectiveness and safety.
  • Ability to interpret plans and drawings and contribute to the design and fabrication of test specimens.
  • Proficiency in computer-aided drafting (CAD) for preparing shop drawings for model construction.
  • Familiarity with material specifications and fabrication methods.

Specific Experience
  • Hands-on expertise with US Navy Navigation equipment and systems demonstrating leadership in at least three (3) of the following four (4) areas:
    • Systems Requirements
    • Operational Requirements
    • Test & Evaluation
    • Training
  • Recognized industry or public service expert in US Navy Navigation equipment and systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct quality inspections tests and evaluations on navigation systems and related equipment.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to review plans drawings and specifications for compliance and accuracy.
  • Develop and prepare shop drawings fabrication models and test specimens.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior staff on quality standards and processes.
  • Document and report test results identifying areas for process improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with all Navy standards safety regulations and project requirements.

Preferred Skills
  • Familiarity with Navy acquisition and lifecycle processes.
  • Strong communication and documentation skills for technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to work effectively within cross-functional and government-contractor teams.
