PositionSummary:

The VNPC Quality Improvement Coordinator will oversee the dailyoperations across multiple grants and initiatives with a primary focus on neonataland infant health. This person will be responsible for all daily operations anddeliverables as stated in the work plans for these projects ensuringcollaborations with all stakeholders and partners; working closely with all 49birth hospitals in the Commonwealth; and strengthening the data systems forthis project while working alongside of communities to improve neonatal andinfant outcomes. While daily operations for these funding streams are the mainpriority for this position there will be other responsibilities across additionalfunding streams to ensure successful completion of relatable deliverablesacross the VNPC.

The person must thrive in a fast-paced environment demonstratesflexibility across diverse responsibilities and excels at managing multipleprojects simultaneously without compromising quality or deadlines. Thesuccessful candidate will possess a strong working knowledge of maternal andinfant health foundational public health principles and demonstrate clear andeffective written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency in projectmanagement quality improvement methodologies and the ability to developcomprehensive workplans for initiatives and health systems is essential.

As amember of the Virginia Neonatal Perinatal Collaborative (VNPC) and Departmentof Pediatrics team the QI Coordinator will be supervised by the VNPC SeniorManager. This person will serve the VNPC as the subject matter expert of the qualityimprovement projects and ensure the daily operations and deliverables are metfor the grants that fund this position. This person will be responsible forproject design implementation of quality improvement projects in the 49 birthhospitals across the Commonwealth including current and future QI projectsworking across state agencies hospital systems and community partners settingpriorities and grant deliverables for the birth hospitals and members of theVNPC grantsmanship and managing grants. Dutiesand Responsibilities:

FinancialAdministration
Proactively monitor and manage grant budgets and expenditures to ensure alignment with project goals funding requirements and institutional policies.
Reconcile monthly financial reports maintain accurate documentation and swiftly address discrepancies or compliance issues in coordination with the supervisor.
Advise leadership on potential fiscal risks compliance concerns and opportunities for improved financial efficiency.
Support routine fiscal operations including invoice processing budget tracking and preparation of financial summaries for reporting and audits

ProgramActivities
Apply public health core values and advanced quality improvement (QI) methodologies to design implement and evaluate initiatives at the local system and state levels.
Cultivate and sustain strategic partnerships with healthcare systems state agencies stakeholders and community organizations to advance maternal and infant health outcomes.
Serve as the VNPCs QI subject matter expert delivering technical assistance coaching and capacity-building support to hospital teams and collaborative partners.
Develop manage and refine comprehensive workplans that align with grant objectives ensuring measurable progress and adaptability to evolving priorities.
Lead the execution of grant deliverables with precision and timeliness including preparation and submission of reports to agency legislative and federal entities.

Planningand Evaluation
Lead the design implementation and evaluation of quality improvement initiatives using established methodologies (e.g. PDSA cycles driver diagrams root cause analysis).
Independently develop strategic plans and implementation frameworks that address identified gaps align with public health priorities and optimize resource utilization
Research and identify new funding opportunities; contribute to grant writing and proposal development to expand program reach and sustainability.
Serve as a key resource for monthly data reporting and interpretation during QI projects ensuring clarity accuracy and relevance to stakeholders.
Act as a thought partner and subject matter expert in maternal and infant health guiding strategic direction and innovation across VNPC initiatives.
Analyze monthly data trends and outcomes from QI projects to inform strategic planning and continuous improvement efforts

Communityand Interagency Relationships
Build and sustain strategic partnerships with state agencies healthcare systems community organizations and stakeholders to advance maternal and infant health initiatives across Virginia.
Represent the VNPC on statewide committees coalitions and advisory groups serving as a trusted voice for quality improvement and public health priorities.
Facilitate cross-sector collaboration by aligning shared goals identifying opportunities for joint initiatives and promoting data-informed decision-making.
Plan and coordinate community health promotion events in partnership with local leaders and health systems ensuring alignment with VNPCs mission and public health values.
Actively engage with partners across the Commonwealth to foster trust promote transparency and strengthen the impact of VNPC programs and initiatives.

EssentialQualifications
Bachelors degree in Public Health HealthAdministration Nursing or a related field with several years ofprogressively responsible experience in maternal and infant health publichealth or quality improvement
Demonstrated ability to work independently whilemanaging multiple complex projects across funding streams and stakeholdergroups.
Demonstrated excellent customer service skills
Experience working across agencies hospital systemsor similar entities
Experience with fiscal administration includingbudget monitoring reconciliation and compliance oversight.
Strong organizational skills with the ability toprioritize tasks meet deadlines and adapt to changing program needs.
Superior communication and interpersonal skillswith the ability to establish and maintain excellent working relationships witha wide variety of constituents
Demonstrated experience working in communityengagement non-profit management or volunteer coordination
Demonstrated ability to work in and foster anenvironment of respect professionalism and civility with a population offaculty staff and students from various backgrounds and experiences or acommitment to do so as a staff member at VCU.

PreferredQualifications
Advanced degree (MPH MHA MSN or equivalent) and/orformal training in quality improvement methodologies (e.g. Lean Six SigmaIHI).
Direct experience with neonatal and infant healthinitiatives public health programming or hospital-based QI projects.
Familiarity with CDC PQC grant and HRSA State MaternalHealth Innovation grant requirements or similar federally funded public healthinitiatives.
Experience developing and implementing educational oroutreach programs ideally within a higher education healthcare or publichealth setting.
Proficiency in data analysis dashboard interpretationand translating findings into actionable strategies.
