The Fund Tax team ensures global tax compliance and advisory support for Franklin Templetons investment funds. It oversees a variety of tax compliance and reporting activities for Franklin Templeton funds including the oversight of tax services provided by third-party providers reviews and implements new tax laws and tax law changesperforms tax analysisand works with external tax advisors auditors and internal stakeholders to ensure regulatory alignment and operational efficiency.
Core Responsibilities
You will be responsible for reviewing investor tax reporting as well as overseeing fund tax compliance activities including the management of capital gains and withholding tax matters.
You will perform tax analysis related to new product structures and complex transactions.
You will monitor tax law changes and assess their impact.
You will communicate tax issues to internal stakeholders.
You will serve as a subject matter expert on fund taxation.
You will engage with external advisors and industry associations on tax matters.
Strategic Responsibilities
You will develop and maintain internal tax policies.
You will identify and address risk events.
You will lead research on new tax regulations and instruments.
You will drive process improvements using digital tools.
You will lead change initiatives within Fund Tax.
Team & Collaboration
You will oversee third-party tax providers.
You will review and approve external tax filings.
You will represent Fund Tax in technical committees.
You will mentor new team members and promote knowledge sharing.
You will build strong relationships with tax teams and influence outcomes.
Experience Education & Certifications
Degree in accounting law taxation or related field.
Experience in fund taxation or public accounting.
CPA CA or legal certification preferred
Technical Skills
Strong tax research and analysis skills.
Project management and multitasking ability.
Ability to present complex tax issues clearly.
Soft Skills
Strong collaboration and communication skills.
Ability to influence internal and external stakeholders.
Relationship-building across departments.
